CLSI Annual Conference 2019 – Letter of Information
Dear Rev Father/Sister,
Greetings to all of you on behalf of the CLSI Service Team.
I am happy to announce to you that the 33rd Annual Conference of the CLSI will be held at the Papal Seminary/JDV, Pune, from Monday the 14th October 2019 4.00 pm to Friday the 18th October 2019 noon and will end with Lunch. Fr Roque Green along with Fr Roque Alphonso and Fr Rajesh Pereira has accepted to be the Chief Local Organizer of this Conference; we thank them sincerely for all that they are doing for us. It is the ever first time we will be meeting at Pune for our Annual Conference. Pune will certainly attract a large number of participants as the climate in October is encouraging. Fr Roque Green has already reserved 140 rooms for us in the campus along with other facilities.
Fr K T Emmanuel the Secretary of the CLSI will update you in the coming months with the Theme, Registration and other connected matters. Registrations will begin only after the Notification by the Secretary, CLSI.
As usual Registrations for the Conference will be handled only by Fr John Mohandas the Treasurer of the CLSI. Kindly cooperate with him by sending the Registration Forms along with the Registration Fees well before the ‘Last Date for Registration’. Only those who have obtained at least a Licentiate/Master’s degree in Canon Law will be admitted to the Conference.
If you wish to suggest any new topics for Shorter Studies at the Conference, you could kindly send them at the earliest, however latest by the 15 June 2019.
At the CCBI meeting held at Mahabalipuram, Chennai, in January 2019, Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrão, Archbishop of Goa and Daman was elected as the President of CCBI and Bishop Derek Fernandes, Bishop of Karwar was elected as the Chairman of CCBI Commission for Canon Law & Legislative Texts. A few days ago Rev Dr Gilbert Aranha, a canonist from Mysore Diocese has been appointed as the Executive Secretary to the Office of Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs (OEIA) of Federation of Asian Bishops Conferences (FABC). On behalf of the CLSI I have greeted them, sent our best wishes and offered our prayerful support.
If you come to know that this Letter of Information is not received by any of our CLSI members or those who are eligible to be members, kindly pass on/forward this Letter of Information to them and encourage them to participate in our Annual Conference 2019.
